Written in dark, but inspired by light.

I first wrote, recorded & self-produced the demo for Firefly in the middle of the pandemic 2021 lockdown, while the desperation and endlessness were already sinking in a bit. My parents shared the demo of the song on Twitter, it went viral locally, resulting in national radio music editors and senior musicians reaching out. I've got the chance to re-record it in the studio, this being my first in-studio experience. However, the producer JAMirko stayed true to the intimacy of my bedroom demo with some ‘happy mistakes’ (such as mouse clicks) incorporated. This is it. The whole story. Just the purest, the happiest start for a sad song, you can imagine.
